The word "filler" breaking containment from anime spaces was a mistake.

Filler EXPLICITLY refers to anime adaptions of an ongoing, WIP manga: that is important because it's describing what happens when an anime adaption catches up to its source material. Filler is the creation of non-canonical material to pad the run time so that the anime can keep being released even after it has adapted everything the manga covered so far.

Filler is often non-canonical both in the fact that it has fuck all to do with the source material AND in how it often has fuck all to do with the rest of the anime adaption. Its content that almost never comes up again, never changes the status quo, and, unless it fucks up, never interrupts the flow or contradicts the source material. It's effectively meaningless. It's another villain to fight in battle series who is never mentioned again. It's another beach trip where no relationships are changed. It's a gag episode. It's a 'what if it was all a dream' bullshit.

Filler content is stagnant. It's stalling for time. It's saying oh FUCK we don't want to fall into obscurity by having to wait a year, two years to have more of the adaption, we want to be on your mind all the time, but also we have nothing to say or do to warrant this perpetual existence.

If it isn't an adaption trying to trick you into watching it without having any new actual content, IT ISN'T FILLER!

Scenes that don't move the plot forward but establish setting, character, time frames, moods and tones, tension, and world view ARE NOT FILLER! Scenes that just explore a relationship dynamic or someone's backstory, even if it ultimately isn't Main Plot Relevant, is not filler. It's storybuilding!! It's fleshing out the story's world and the people within it.

That's a RICH TEXT! NOT FILLER!!!

TV shows do not exist to only tell the main story where everything else is worthless and peripheral!!!! They exist to meander and EXPLORE! THAT IS NOT FILLER THAT IS DEPTH AND PURPOSE.

two things can be true at once: jeff and callie's b plot might have eaten up a horrendous amount of screentime in the adult tl (taking away from the teen tl), and those scenes can ALSO be the most enjoyable thing about the s3 adult timeline

I haven't been seeing ANYONE talk about this but why the fuck did Luther get an ape body again when given marigold? The powers didn't cause the ape body at all, Reginald 'saving his life' by splicing his genes with Pogo's did.

Ergo, when given marigold, he should have retained his normal human body but regained his super strength. It's literally like AI wrote this season, or a bunch of people who had never seen the previous seasons.

In fact, no. It's like season four was a terrible fanfic that somehow made it onto the writers table. (further backed up by the fact that Jennifer read as if she was someone's self insert OC. She has barely any real personality and just kinda exists as a weird romance / plot device but that's a rant for another time).

I love how Nora just invents things in order to avoid complications with real-life things.

Like, using USC's football stadium as the exy stadium too would take a lot of work to figure out how that would be possible. Solution: invent a new stadium!

Having the characters play a real sport that already exists would mean looking into all the rules and regulations and history, etc, and there could be multiple elements of the sport that work against the plot of the story or complicate it in some way. Solution: invent a new sport!

I mean, it gives her full creative control over what happens in the story, and we as readers get to learn about a cool new thing without feeling the need to fact-check every element. Tbh, it makes so much sense to me.

Like, go off! Make stuff up! It's your world. We're just reading and enjoying and becoming obsessed with it!!!

still havent forgiven yall for making the entire iwtv s2 plot themes of second chances, being failed and hurt again, grief and regret, lost childhoods and infantilization, long game manipulation, artistry and voyuerism, cycles of violence, and the complicated emotions in families with past trauma.... about armandanial. like that season gave EVERYTHING, delivered almost everything it possibly could for louis's arc, to set up claudia's tragedy.. but its abt a weird toxic romance yall invented in ur head. even ignoring the ACTUAL canon fascinating and complicated one ARMAND WAS ALREADY HAVING onscreen bc uhhhh old man yaoi or smth. yall can write a 2k meta post abt the way armand's eyes skated over daniel lingeringly and make every other post in the armand tag abt them but the real story of louis being vulnerable to abuse AGAIN right after leaving lestat or claudia's longing and bitterness for family while unable to trust louis just go unremarked some months later.

i dont talk about alter ritsuka much bc the verse is just so barebones due to my lack of lostbelt knowledge but honestly alter ritsuka is such a crazy thing to me bc hes everything ritsuka doesnt want to be. altsuka is the manifestation of all the despair and resentment that ritsuka was so close to giving into in his journey countless times (of course in canon he doesnt). but in some messed up world, there exists a ritsuka that lost everything and ultimately decided to go on a fuckin warpath because nothing matters anymore? yeah. yeah.

like imagine how he feels being summoned to a prime version of himself that's still fighting and everything is going way better in this world.

Amazing, take some of the side character demons from Evil Bound.

Vincie is a menace to Chuck and Chuck alone so in Hell, Chuck hexes his hand behind his back so that he isn't grabbed as much (and it's harder to pet him). Chuck is like the most irresponsible older sibling ever to demons though so Kelvin recruits him (as an older sibling vibe) to go help him get his ACTUAL older sibling from Earth. Chuck agrees. And then drags Vincie from Hell with them because no one else wants to babysit him and he refuses to unbind the hex just to re-hex when he returns to Hell.

In Hell, Kelvin actually doesn't appear much different than his human form! Like Kronos, the lines under his eyes are red in Hell but black on earth. Chuck however? In Hell he has wolf-ish ears and has a fur lining his neck (note the neck scars in human form). In addition to that he has four eyes in Hell (note the scars under his eyes in human form). Vincie just has horns in Hell. And! In Hell the hex doesn't have a silly looking "tied up" look, it's invisible unless Vincie strains it with movement and then its red text. But it shifts on earth to be visible.

Vincie's biggest agony for the entirety on earth is "dude it's colder here than in Hell I want a jacket to slip my arms into BUT I CANT BECAUSE IM BOUND".
